1. Prepare your storage area

To keep your machines protected, heavy equipment storage is best done in a fully enclosed structure, like a garage, barn, or warehouse. The space should be insulated, clean, dry, and free of any pests and animals. You should also utilize a protective floor mat to prevent your tracked construction equipment from damaging the flooring. Cover your machines with a heavy duty, high quality tarp that will keep out moisture and help you avoid rust.

2. Clean and grease equipment before storage

It’s important to give the exterior and interior of your machine a deep clean before longer term heavy equipment storage. If you wash dirt and debris from moving parts and add lubricant, it’ll be clean and ready to work when you power up the engine again. 3. Top off your fuel and oil tanks
